10.21.25 What I am working on during my solo creative retreat. I think I am going to need a new travel loom, but for the moment, I'll make do with a piece of driftwood to keep the tension tight. :-)

This work taught me the importance of allowing creativity to flow through, without attachment to outcome, as it led me through the process; freeing myself to experiment with the materials, and letting go of fears / expectations. This really opened me up--in so many ways!

'Earthkeepers' Acrylic on 12x12 canvas. Created last fall during a retreat on the coast. Each time I look at it I think of the scent of wet leaves and salty sea air on the wind as I walk the shore.

SOLD!!! This 14x18in acrylic on canvas was inspired by a photograph taken by staff at Wild Carrot Herbals in Wallowa County. I first used palette knives but the need for fine detail work with paintbrushes really made it pop. Thank you Element of Joseph for selling this today!

I spent quite a bit of time in creative retreat on the Oregon Coast last fall. During my time there, I sketched the basic blocks of this piece while sitting on the beach during a rare sunny day, ruminating on what the coastline would have looked like before any human infrastructure had been built.

Recently rediscovered some digital negatives... a contemplation of the state of our waterways, particularly the river that flows through the countryside of my childhood. Offers a sense of belonging to the landscape; calming my body/mind during a constant state of chaos.
