Hi. 1) You mean without preserving aspect ratio? 2) Yes, this is a common request and will be implemented in redesign, 3) I don't know if Minecraft supports this, but if possible, yes.

Yes, you can delete the old ones without issues.

1. Not at the moment, sorry.
2. It is possible, but you will have to edit the resource pack manually.
3. Yes, you can make more separate packs.

Either that, or my graphics card is dying. Not sure which one I would be more annoyed about.
