I'm very much looking forward to 'The Politics of Deliverism' at this years #Lab25.

Lessons from a Democrat loss in the US, communicating to Reform curious voters, and what it all means for Labour in power from some of our new-ish Labour MPs.

Come along if you're free (and have a conference pass!)

If you’re a traditional business and are found to be employing people without the right to work you face up to 5 years in prison and an unlimited fine.

The same should apply to Deliveroo, Uber, Just Eat - who skirt this via the classification of their workers as ‘self employed’.

Today is the last day to apply to be editor of
@labourlist.bsky.social !

Given this 'Top Stories' side bar, and the fact I had to scroll through 31 (!) articles on the homepage before getting to one written by a woman (who was Bridget Philipson) - I would encourage good women to apply 🙂

‘One Labour staffer’ needs to realise that these anti abortion protestors have been targeting Labour conference and wider offices for years regardless of parliamentary amendments, and quite possibly get their head out of their ass whilst they’re at it.

Thrilled also to have @edmilibandmp.bsky.social join us last night to deliver a keynote on community energy, and for agreeing to be grilled by me after...

This is a very different argument to: we’d all like to remove the 2CL but we can’t make it work financially right now.

And adopting a line that hundreds of thousands of children should suffer to teach their parents a lesson - is this a popular argument for a Labour MP to be making?

and on clarification - wonder if Rosie Duffield will clarify whether the Labour Party is woefully ill-informed about the law, or the party of barristers?

Surely it can’t be both?

Would love to get some clarity over whether cis women who appear masculine should laugh off challenge or whether they should be excluded from sex based spaces because those are the choices they have made.

Both arguments made in the last 2 days by leading GC voices.

Without any comment on the substance of the announcement yesterday, this quote in Politico this morning is such bullshit and incredibly silly to brief out.

Middle class, educated ‘London-type’ voters are still voters. Treating them with contempt won’t go well.

In 2024 I wanted to read more than in 2023 - and despite everything else that happened, I did!

Inspired by a friend - my top books of the year:

On the other app, the shadow Energy Secretary is extremely forgetful.

The Clean Heat Market Mechanism was announced December 2023 by then-Energy Secretary, Claire Coutinho.

It was delayed until 1st April 2025 by then-Energy Secretary Claire Coutinho - the same date committed to today by Miliband.
