I got tenure the same time I had my first of 2 babies and got a grant to start a 5 year project in a new area of research ... very little published then. 🤪

The College Park facility holds the records of the US Children's Bureau, which I'm using now, and only a bit of it is digitized. I was there exactly a year ago and there were tons of folks doing research of all kinds, not just academic. Devastating. 😭
