This sounds like a perfect description of someone i have had a displeasure to work with closely for the better part of a decade. Thankfully for ideological reasons he will never see this post of mine...

Not to mention a subtle theological point. Almost any time I use man in my writing, it would be perfectly fitting to use Christ instead...

Are we talking in formal terms here? because if yes, then I must say, Welcome to the Rahnerian side my brother in christ!

Sometimes i feel like I have very much the dnd wizard "Fuck it! I cast fireball!" Energy when it comes to theology/philosophy!

When most of the modern American authoritarians resemble the ReichKirche rather than the scholars of the Ressourcement.
November 24, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Yes, but modern American Authoritarians think HUvB and Henri de Lubac, and Blondel are on their side!

There are a couple of obvious ones. Most notably, most Integrists have a political end in mind. They want to subordinate the secular legal structures to the ecclesiastical structures.

Integralists in this debate see these elements are far more connected, and mutually informing in difference.

Well yes, I mean, are we not in a modern era of modern integral understandings of the human person in theology.

The reason the Integrist distinction works is because it was the name given to the political movement. It is what Henri de Lubac called the Action Francais crowd as well.

I know right!, But it is not just my OCD, if we don't use the right terms from the french/spanish discourse we end up in funny places.

@catholickungfu.bsky.social might be amused by this, but I have had very "fun" conversation when someone has brought up Blondel calling himself an Integralist against "Modernists".

They are so afraid to use the remedies, and then they claim why won't someone stop this!

What gets me is that if they were to do this, the MSNBC's of the world would be screaming bloody murder about Norms...

The problem with Kulaks is that they always seem to come back
November 16, 2025 at 7:47 AM
I think I prefer Rahner calling the Church the true "Eve".

I am reminded of Hitchens assault on the American Left for going along with such an amoral reprobate as Bill Clinton and his conservatism...

Oh how things could have been better without the Clintons...
