The political establishment in Columbia has refused to show the people who get up and go to work every day the respect they deserve. When I’m Governor that will change. The establishment doesn’t care that our wages have not gone up while the cost of living has. I do-help is on the way.

South Carolina ranks 43rd in education: 43rd. And we still aren’t paying teachers what they’re worth? South Carolina teachers make less now than 10 years ago when adjusted for inflation: and we wonder why there’s a teacher shortage?

Hard work deserves fair pay. South Carolina should set a real minimum wage, one that reflects today’s cost of living and respects the people who keep our communities running. A fair wage isn’t radical, it’s basic dignity.
