Finally!! My second Great Gray Owl and it was spectacular! I learned the tips at the end of the tail feathers are indicative of a young owl. I found an adult for my first sighting the day before. :)

Latest read.
Wow, I didn't realize how little I really knew about TB. Very interesting book with all kinds of historical tidbits that demonstrate how everything really is tuberculosis.

Well, this wasn't in my stack of "to be read this week" books, but I had put a reserve in quite a while back when I first spotted the author's name - a name familiar to me because I have taken three writing courses at OSU with John Larison. He is an amazing instructor!

I had to really zoom in to see what I had just watched this heron catch for supper. Crawdad dinner it is. Bosque del Apache NWR - December 2024

Totally engaging from the first chapter on until the surprising twists and turns of the ending but don't cheat and skip ahead to the end! You'll miss all the connections along the way. Every word is worth consideration. I was captivated by this book.

My library books to see me through the weekend. One to enlighten, one because it's a sequel to a recommended novel that I enjoyed. And then one for pure escape.
❤️❤️my public library❤️❤️
I love independent bookstores too, but this was easier on my wallet today 😉
Both need our love and support.

Latest read. Very, very moving story. Banned in many schools. I wonder how many adults actually read it before jumping on the bandwagon.

I took a walk this afternoon and observed a lot of bees on every little puddle of water. I followed them home to find a very active hive out and about. 83F with sunny skies. They think spring has arrived.

This box was empty last fall. Glad to see it has new residents, hopefully not too "spicy".
