Even the biggest proponents were at least mismanaged IMO

Better labelling pretty please. I was honestly much confused reading this one. As soon as I read the original it immediately made sense, but I'm a shape rotator

I'm sending a GDPR deletion request to stop IKBR spamming me for an account I deleted a year ago

Oh no, watch a NZ political party think it's a good idea because Australia is doing it

Followed for many years, worked on perf and web for longer. I'd say we agree actually on quite a lot, but we've got plenty to talk about, more than possible on this medium. Tell me if you're ever in NL or Belgium, I'll buy whatever drink you prefer

Thanks for the info, I'll read more for now. I'll have to poke at it more when I'm in front of a computer.

I'm not US-work-culture positive cult either.

Of course, can only do so much as basically a DevRel/Guide. Given that position/relationship between you and your audience, the Q for you are: could I be more effective?
November 17, 2024 at 12:05 PM
You clearly care but frustrated. You either want to drive real change (like how DanAbramov is effective) or stop caring and drink mojitos on the beach.

If you don't meet people where they currently are and lead them to water by letting them come to the realisations of your own, they're much more likely to dismiss you as an extremist rather than listen.

Tis how you get change in any organisation without direct power to change. Programming people

No, real interaction with taps, which is doable before the final 'load' event (yes presuming there's a gap in JS execution).

The waterfall looks really dragged out on that benchmarking site you linked. I'd be hesitant to use it and much more interested in the RUM they're (hopefully) collecting.

With all of these, it's at least fine performance wise

Maybe instead of criticising the stack, you point out where in the waterfall they should improve

Maybe even test the a11y claims and report issues since they talk about that in the article

Gummon bro, be nice

1. I'm interactive in 2-3s on an S9+, shady 4G connection on a train in Europe
2. looks to be slow on that comparison site for the old version too
3. the painting is now way sooner
4. high information density where users probably visit infrequently and so need to read before first input
