from the Friends of Churchill volunteer group that works out of Churchill Senior Centre: Last Christmas Day, thanks to your kindness we were able to bring comfort and joy to many. We served 400+ meals, with about as many people who came plus 78 volunteers. The number far exceeded the number of people allowed under the city's so-called Occupant Load bylaw and we had to look for a larger venue.

These thefts often involve suspects approaching victims from a nearby waiting vehicle—usually seniors—under the guise of asking for directions or help, and then offering a “gift,” such as placing a necklace around the victim’s neck as a thank-you gesture.

It will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Westboro Legion, 389 Richmond Road.
