I tend to do a lot of re-posting too. If something I re-post has hit me particularly hard in that moment, I will also respond in the original post then re-post rather than quoting a post and commenting, which can cut off part or all of the original. I will also occasionally make my own direct posts.

The real problem is that they refuse to believe actual truth. They look for some debunked, half-baked bullshit that matches what they WANT to believe and that will become the only "proof" they'll ever accept. Willful ignorance is the hardest to fight, but also the most common.
