This will allow all the republicans in Congress (and I’m sure some Dems) to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and say, “well we tried. We need to move on from this!”

It’s actually another thing that makes me skeptical about this. That and why was Trump suddenly “fine” with releasing the files yesterday? They have a back/trap door set up. Either DOJ comes up with some BS excuse of why they can’t “legally” release them, or the files will be incredibly redacted
