I took these two images from my backyard three weeks apart. The bright object in the lower right is Uranus. It takes 84 years to go around the Sun once, so it will take several months to cross the area shown here (about four times the width of the moon).

Here are the Horsehead Nebula and the California Nebula, named for their distinctive shapes. Still needs some work - the stars are way too bright but I'm still a novice!

I got a DWARF 3 telescope about a month ago. It's a nifty little device; it can track objects and save individual frames for later processing on your computer. It takes a surprising amount of effort to do astrophotography well, but the Andromeda Galaxy and Orion Nebula are hard to screw up!
