Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind"

No he couldn't, at least not in Canada

While on paper Britain needed to approve constitutional changes until 1982, in practice and law they wouldn't have refused. Your understanding of Canadian history is not entirely accurate. Confederation was not local self government.

The King has no power in Canada. He cannot dissolve Parliament. The Governor General does all the duties the King use too. King's relationship to Canada is purely symbolic.
November 13, 2025 at 7:16 PM
Repatriating the constitution in 1982 isn't when Canada became independent. Confederation was in 1867. Most connections with Britain beyond that point were symbolic.

Just like the King remains head of state in Canada but has zero power over anything.

No idea where you got 1987.
November 13, 2025 at 12:46 AM
Canada became an independent country in 1867. Britain was no longer involved in day to day affairs- King had no power. While true that in WWI canada was brought into war by British declaration, the 1926 Balfour Report and 1931 Statute of Westminster gave Canada full control over foreign affairs.
November 13, 2025 at 12:45 AM
Wrong. Canada was a sovereign nation in 1867.

Im so tired of this American view that they won the World Wars

In WWI they sat on the sidelines for 3.5 years. Cdns had won Vimy before any US troops arrived in Europe.

In WWII, they profitted on the sidelines for more than 2 years, then entered.

The victory was collective. UK played bigger role
November 12, 2025 at 11:49 AM
It wasnt just the Brits and the French fighting in the war. Many countries, esp commonwealth countries, sent troops. Countries like Canada punched way above their weight, the entire 4 years. Canadians had pushed the Germans back from Vimy Ridge, a major stronghold, before the US arrived in Europe
November 12, 2025 at 11:45 AM
The US could not have won either war on its own. In WWI, the allies fought for 3+ yrs before the US arrived, developing strategies and intel the US benefitted from. Similar in WWII. US was not more important than UK in either war.

US contributions certainly important, but US did not win the wars.

Hasn't he been bragging about the billions and billions $ tariffs have brought in. Aren't these his numbers? But then this is why he is a 34x convicted felon - he inflated values when it advantaged him and then claimed poverty when he had to pay taxes on those inflated assets

Same thing, diff day
November 11, 2025 at 9:48 PM
US was not an MVP in either war. MVPs show up for the entire conflict. They don't sit on the sidelines and watch their allies suffer for literally years.

Maybe if US entered in 1914, like everyone else, the war may have ended earlier. But Germany already losing when US actually started fighting.
November 11, 2025 at 9:40 PM
He wont resign - that would take class and grace.

This is the man that lost the election and his own seat and instead of resigning, he forced an MP to resign so Cdns could spend $2M on an unnecessary bi-election while he refused to move out of a mansion he wasnt entitled to live in.
November 11, 2025 at 5:44 PM
The US didnt win WWI - they joined in mid 1917 when the tide was already turning. Everyone else had been fighting since 1914

The US didnt win WWII - they joined in late 1941 (troops arriving much later) when the rest of the world had been involved since 1939

This re-writing history needs to stop
November 11, 2025 at 5:21 PM
If 40M on snap, just for them it'd be $80B.
November 11, 2025 at 2:55 PM
Maybe you shouldn't usurp powers you don't have, impose tariffs that are illegal, if you can't pay the fine.

How is this different from someone whining because they got caught stealing a car and now have to go to pay a fine or go to jail.

And just months after an election...

Who needs enemies when you have friends like PP & co.?
November 7, 2025 at 11:35 AM
Who would want to be in a party with a leader who threatens to ruin you if you don't follow along.

As they say, who needs enemies if you have friends like that!
November 7, 2025 at 11:34 AM
And a man that wants top job and still hasn't gotten his security clearance.

We must conclude he cannot get it otherwise, given that it was an election issue, and will continue to be one, one would have thought he would just get it. Seems security clearance should be basic requirement to be PM.
November 4, 2025 at 11:52 AM
My prediction: PP is too juvenile & political to support the budget, which quite frankly sounds like it will be more conservative leaning than liberal. NDP can't support this budget on principle & can't afford an election so they will abstain

343 - 7 = 336 ÷ 2 = 168. The Liberals have 169 seats.
November 4, 2025 at 11:50 AM
I just keep wondering what the US response would be if a foreign power bombed US boats off the US coast bc they believed, without evidence, that the boat was engaged in illegal activities.

The crying would be heard all over the world.
November 2, 2025 at 5:16 PM
The NDP can talk about big game all they want but with no leader, and no money, they are not voting against the budget.

The Cons can't risk running PP as leader again. If they lose again, it may do longstanding damage to the party as a whole. Polls indicate they won't win.

This is media drama

He still doesn't know the meaning of that song yet, does he? Or that the Village People were not all white? And that some were gay? Idiot

And he still thinks he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize!
