Had this 60 years ago. It would flair up at night like I was on fire. Calamine lotion the only relief. Face would swell, then hands, then feet & move around my body. Causes inc anxiety, not enough acid in my stomach, penicillin, the cold air etc. No one ever really knew. Grew out of it by my 20s.
