right now, gh cli + gitsigns.nvim OR diffview.nvim (arguably not; depends on the path i take of more "normal editor" or more "diff viewer") + octo.nvim might be what i want.

i just looked at jj this morning and this doesn't seem to be the goal of jj. this is independent of the vcs system used. jj solves real (super annoying) problems, just not intended to solve this one.
