It was a busy weekend. I built a prototype network-enabled temperature & humidity sensor for a remote datacenter closet. I used a REST API so that I can monitor it remotely. It was a fun project, but I still have some tweaks to make.

Reason 312 why I hate MS... Time it takes to enable WSUS (Windows Software Update Service) on a server: 5 minutes. Time taken to troubleshoot, diagnose and try to fix all the errors that pop up IMMEDIATELY after it starts: 10 hours. This is all the while following Microsoft's OWN INSTRUCTIONS!!

I know it's a couple days since Giving Tuesday, but if you haven't yet, consider giving $5-$10 to sites like Wikipedia and Internet Archive (wayback machine). Especially if you use them...and who doesn't use Wikipedia? Sites like these rely on user contributions to help with operational expenses.

The Civil Air Patrol was founded on December 1, 1941 to help support the war by mobilizing local aviation to help with our nation's defense. Eighty-three years on, the CAP continues it's mission of service in Emergency Services, Aerospace Education and our Cadet program.
