The nib was used to apply the wax & later melted away (by the candle) to show what was beneath. The final product shows the layers of color when the wax was removed.

You put the wax on where you don't want the color (the dye doesn't get that area) & then melt all the wax away to reveal the layers of color.

I remember making those when I was a kid. Mine were never near as beautiful but I loved the process.

I was abt 40 & had to go to the dr, I joked w/ the nurse that "maybe it's shingles"
The dr came in & examined the rash. Dr: you have shingles.
Me: wow, really? Can I get the vax?
Dr: you can but insurance won't cover until your 60. It'll be 600$. (It has changed since then, but..holy fork!)

Yes. This is a normal human response. It doesn't have to be Plath. Your community will be there. Hold them tight while you move on to rage. Together, we can burn the problem to the ground.
