For LGBTQ+ and internet scholars, check out this new open-access (free to read) book trilogy on online hate. It includes a diverse range of topics for anyone interested in disinformation and hate speech, plus a few chapters on how the far-right spreads disinformation against LGBTQ+ people online.

Just a quick note for my new followers: I use my birth name for my (upcoming) publications. The name I'm using now is an abbreviation I prefer to use and is temporary. I only use my birth name in professional settings, and I never use it outside work. Hope this clears up any future confusion! 🏳️‍⚧️

There have been three major waves of opposition to transgender health care in the past century, including today's. Each wave has used pseudoscience to justify its hostility to trans people, including today's. 🧪 www.scientificamerican.com/article/pseu...

Exciting news! This week, RMIT's DERC "soft launched" their new lab on Digital Hostility and Disinformation. Our new lab is working on panels, conferences, and publications. I'm assisting with an LGBTQ+ study for the lab. I'll be posting more updates on our research next year. #AcademicSky

I've been working on launching a reading group on digital methods for queer, and trans studies. Our members are HDRs from RMIT's DERC. If there are any academics, HDRs, and postdocs interested in joining in on Aus time, let me know, and we can see if we can make this a network! 🌈 🎓

Bluesky, I'm looking for advice. I'm experiencing difficulties with using social media to find participants for two surveys. I'll really appreciate any and all recommendations on where to share my surveys. Is Bluesky a good place? Both are about LGBTQ+ experiences with social media.
