Will we ever submit that manuscript? Working on it 😉! Massive sulphides from a showing near East Fiord, #AxelHeibergIsland, Nunavut, photographed in reflected light and hand sample. Pentlandite, pyrite, magnetite, all the good stuff. #CriticalMinerals #HALIP #ThinSectionThursday

BSE images of a basalt clast from sample 2016Oden-D3, Alpha Ridge, Arctic Ocean, a volcanic breccia formed as the result of magma-water interaction 90 my ago. Think Kilauea lava bench deposit! Image B at yellow dot on A. #ThinSectionThursday #UNCLOS

Detailed mineralogical study of the Roof Zone recovered by drilling the Muskox East DDH. Think of it as the “messy chilled margin” of the Muskox M-UM layered intrusion. BSE images of sulphide-rich core samples show the expected enrichment in accessory minerals. #CMGDMackenzieLIP #Thinsectionthursday

Massive sulphides from the early pulse of the #HALIP on #AxelHeibergIsland, Nunavut, photographed in reflected light and hand sample. Hosted in relict, sulphide-rich “chimneys” formed in the vicinity of evaporite structures. #CriticalMinerals #ThinSectionThursday

Something for my first #thinsectionthursday on Bluesky that illustrates our #GEM / #CMGD project on the Muskox intrusion roof rocks. BSE images of the messy, sulphide-rich chilled margin in the Muskox East DDH. Next: Cu - Fe isotopic analyses downhole in support of a PhD project. #CriticalMinerals
