It’s the US that’s alienating everyone. It will take at least a generation to rebuild the goodwill squandered in less than a year.

I bet djt would be really upset if other things were named in his honor, like ‘The Trump Center for Women’s Equality,’ or ‘Trump’s Diaper and Fake Golf Trophy Emporium’… There must be another person with the last name Trump who could sign a release to have their name used for those things.

In 1812 the British set the whole thing on fire. So maybe he thinks wrecking the White House is the sort of thing kings do…

What’s to stop anyone naming anyone else as an Antifa member? Like, say a person claimed Eric was a member of Antifa—how could they deny it?

While I am not disputing your larger point, I would argue much of how this most recent election shook down is the result of citizens not really getting how our system works, as evidenced by the ndp near wipeout on the Island, with vote splitting allowing the cpc to come up the middle.

This sensory experience is familiar to almost everyone in the province. It’s inclusive, universally required, and belongs to all of us.

For all of the mythology of rugged individualism, it seems the US is a pretty obliging nation, and deferential to celebrity culture. Blaming the GOP for setting this all up is fun, but you guys kind of let them. You can stop giving them permission at any time.

Glad you’re protesting, but what I’m talking about is everyday acts of defiance and contempt. Organised protests have inherent vacuum leaks that limit effectiveness; in addition to those, look for the small acts of ‘screw you!’; to show them they can’t rely on you for consent.

I’m convinced Trump laid out his whole worldview in the Access Hollywood tape: "I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. ... Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything." Americans, STOP LETTING HIM GRAB WHAT HE WANTS.
