Some came in the 1600s, and the Wapanoag and their allies fought a war against them because they didn’t recognize their authority. So I’m going with, no, they did not come legally.

None of my ancestors needed a visa to come into the US. They bought passage on a boat and showed up and went about their lives. By today’s standards, my ancestors would be “illegal.”

What part of basic human decency do you people not understand? Our immigration process is broken. Until it is fixed, more and more people will come without documentation because their lives depend on it and can’t wait 3 years for a visa to be approved.

I forgot the federal minimum stuck at $7.25/hr. I live in a state with a minimum of $15/hr, and I thought that was what we were doubling. Gosh, we need to freaking quadruple the federal minimum wage. And yes, absolutely make the 1% pay their fair share of taxes.

The Inspector General Act requires that the President give Congress a 30 day notice and a detailed reasoning as to why the IG’s employment is being terminated. Trump can fire IGs, but he can’t do it effective immediately. That’s the illegal part.

Denmark also evacuated almost their entire Jewish population to Sweden once the Nazis got the lists of all members of the country’s synagogues. THAT’S the Denmark we need to be right now.

I’m interested to see what happens with a potential nationwide abortion ban, when states have had votes that affirmed abortion care. The people spoke and said they wanted to keep it. Some states put it in their state Constitutions. How can you ban it in those states?

It depends on the state (for now). I just had a D&E less than a month ago for a missed miscarriage in Massachusetts. Had an ultrasound on a Thursday that showed a fetal pole and no cardiac activity instead of a 10 week embryo, had a D&E scheduled for Monday within an hour.
