The USA is the only high income country without universal healthcare. The healthcare system in USA is fundamentally broken. Healthcare should be public, not subject to one’s credit card.

Big pharma is the reason there are drugs to treat AIDS and stop the spread of HIV.
You can't expect them to work for free anymore than we can of you.
The govt. should buy out any patents and distribute the meds for free.

I would sadly hypothesize that this may be a result of not enough diversity (women, in particular), in tech. Diversity is key to opening your horizon and criticizing your own view points.

I am glad to say that we have hired more women than men in our tech organization in recent history.

I held without it for over 3 years until I got it at last year’s Christmas party. At least, I am getting a booster every year before the holidays, so it was rather benign.
