A glorious evening to walk Ralf tonight in Sherburn. A Red Kite in sky above us, Skylarks a plenty and a Yellowhammer serenading us for “a little bit of bread and no cheese”. Makes you feel glad to be alive.

A beautiful day at Croft Castle today. They’ve got sweet chestnut trees that date back to chestnuts taken from ships in the Spanish Armada. There’s also a 1,000 year old oak tree. Here’s my Blog from an earlier visit. c13mpr.com/2022/05/10/s...

Saltburn is great too. I lived a few miles away as a teenager. It’s improved massively since then though. We called in quite recently on our way back from Scotland.
