I’m exactly the same way. Making music is my ultimate joy. But in this era, there is no $ in selling music. Massive amounts of gigs/touring is where to recoup, but a what physical cost? Thanks, streaming.

The sole reason I spent a year writing a new sci-fi-tinged concept album "One Way Ticket" to help those in need find escape (mostly for my own music therapy!)

Agree! It's like the world of movie sequels is hitting the vintage synth remake segment. If I wanted a Roland virtual vintage synth, I'd get it from the source (a few exceptions...some Roland eat CPU and can be buggy, Arturia has come close at solid remakes! Just need Korg to release virtual 01/W.

Hot mess is what our genres are! Synthpop started in 70s, and relates to 80s but anything that is pop music using mostly synths to me would qualify, but today that's often lumped into "electronic" which is full of sub-genres. Great question but hard to answer!
