Reading about Snõõper, I just learned there is a genre called "egg punk" which apparently is the antithesis of "chain punk." Huh?

I was slow to read @ekulczycki's article in THE but glad I did! Lists are intrinsically problematic.

There's an invasion of Tufted Titmice in NY--I'm seeing and hearing them outside my office window every day. A random search informed me that a visit from a tufted titmouse "asks you to step away from the past and to worry less about the future"

A few weeks ago, I sampled a bunch of Sparks LPs and decided I'm not that crazy about them. Yet when I hear a Sparks cut on today's @ClayPigeonWFMU's show archive, I enjoyed it. Conclusion: Sparks is best in small doses. Thanks CP for adding cheer to the world five days a week.

I don’t spend much time birding anymore but yesterday in Prospect Park was lovely. Highlights included two Louisiana Waterthrushes, an eye-level rusty blackbird, and a pine warbler uncharacteristically foraging on the trail in all its golden goodness.

Although I've always admired @sashafrerejones's elegant writing, I am especially jazzed about his new piece on Arthur Russell--The Unclassifiable, Unending Cascade of Arthur Russell’s Music
