An underreported aspect of the Gaza ceasefire: The business deals that Trump's family made with Gulf Arab states gave Trump a personal stake in restraining Netanyahu — my piece @theguardian.com | www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

“Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza” — Biden never made this simple demand, despite 15 months of relentless Israeli slaughter of Palestinians during his presidency

The IPC's report last week declaring a famine in Gaza City will be a source of shame for all those who will inevitably claim that they didn’t realize the extent of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza — my latest @theguardian.com | www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

According to @nytimes.com:

Russia invades Ukraine, while Israel “takes over” Gaza.

And here's how @nytimes.com covered Israel's accusation that Al-Jazeera journalist Anas al-Sharif was a "Hamas fighter posing as a reporter."

The NYT is perfectly capable of calling out government propaganda and lies — but not when it comes to Israel.

Here's how @nytimes.com covered Russia's accusation (followed by a sham court conviction) that Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich was a spy:

Israel assassinated journalist Anas Al-Sharif and his entire Al-Jazeera TV crew in Gaza today.

CPJ warned of Israeli smear campaign against him, but few Western media outlets or journalists spoke out in defense of their Palestinian colleagues. Their silence is cowardly and shameful.

“The US is deeply complicit in the starvation and unspeakable suffering that Israel is inflicting on the people of Gaza. Thanks to an unlimited supply of US weapons and diplomatic cover, Netanyahu has been able to continue Israel’s genocide with impunity” — my comments to @dawnmenaorg.bsky.social

Good to know that Netanyahu will bomb New York City if it elects a Shia Muslim mayor — and that US politicians will continue supporting Israel unconditionally

The Committee to Protect Journalists (@pressfreedom.bsky.social) displays integrity and courage with this statement today condemning Israel's attack on Iranian state TV — and connecting it to Israel's sense of impunity after it killed 200 journalists in Gaza, with little international outrage.

20 years ago today, Lebanese-Palestinian journalist and leftist intellectual Samir Kassir was assassinated in Beirut, by the Assad regime. Samir’s writing inspired a generation.

This is one of the most pernicious elements of the Heritage Foundation's Project Esther, intended to destroy the pro-Palestinian movement in the US.

I've already seen this happen with STEM faculty criticizing their humanities colleagues for being too eager to "resist" Trump.
