I'm so impressed you keep going. I'm in a blue state and feel absolutely hopeless. Of course my reps represent my values--they're just powerless. I can only call them to offer moral support:/

I was seriously worried in January about totalitarianism and late night...I'm really scared that it seems like my gears were justified. I depend on Seth Meyers, John Oliver, and the Daily Show for a dose of news and jokes. This is so bleak.

I totally know this scene and tried to find the song years ago:) Such a great and optimistic show.

I really don't want to jump on the hate NYT bandwagon, but it's getting hard not to.

I really need someone to tell me this will be okay bc I'm straight up scared. There's no democracy without accountability. Being able to indoctrinate kids on a state level is the end.

That was my first reaction too. They're eco awful and make fast fashion items. Fewer container ships going back and forth would be great...invasive species are a serious threat, not that this admin cares since they've eliminated all fishing regs and thousands of birds like pelicans are starving.

As an American, this. I was literally shocked in November. Everything pointed to Kamela winning. It happened in 2016 too w Hillary. The worst whiplash.

"I'm Henry the 8th I am--Henry the 8th I am, I am" is the real super spreader for his fun image--so catchy. Hillary Mantel's books helped capture the real Henry.

Yes, I know entrepreneurs in this exact situation right now.

This. And of course I can't understand or forgive the active supporters, but also the many liberals I know who make one complicated issue a reason to reject a candidate. It happens over and over again. Why do Democrats think there's a perfect candidate out there? Republicans don't.

It's all terrifying and so depressing.

It's so disheartening the abundance of microplastics hasn't garnered an international reaction. I thought maybe there'd be more action when they were found in semen, fetuses, and brains. But it's another Don't Look Up.

It's beyond that. I wish this actually applied.

Too many Democrats vow to do everything they can to stop a Democratic candidate from winning because of one issue--and if you question it, you're labeled as against that issue. Maybe candidate X can be a good leader even if we agree on most imp issues, but not all of them.

Outdoor cats kill 1.3-4 billion birds a yr in the US alone. Hope he finds an indoor home soon or someone puts a "birds be safe" collar on him.

It's just an onslaught every day of bad news. One month in. I love the park system. Next they'll try to sell Yosemite or the Grand Canyon. I'm actually afraid this really will happen.

Looked at comments to see if it was just me who found them annoying. Don't forget Abt all the Arnold Lobel books/poems. Great writer/illustrator. Closeted for a lot of his life and was such a gentle, good person...I made my daughter research him when she was doing a children's illustration project:)
