I can't shake the feeling that we're watching Season 21 of "The Apprentice," wherein Donald Trump looks straight into the camera and says: "America, you're fired!"

Cruel insanity -- but that's the point. Blame MAGA, not Stonewall, who are simply making what updates they must make in order to ensure they may remain a national monument.

Awaiting your arrival,
I straighten the sheets,
I empty the garbage,
I wash the dishes:
All these things I do,
These simple chores,
Mundane but earnest
Expressions of love
As if to say
"Please come. Stay awhile.
Dirty my dishes.
Fill my trashcans.
Unmake my bed.
My heart is yours,
Yours."

In the AI-assisted future, the accomplishments of the past will become the subject of conspiracy-theory. "There's no way humans could've done that without AI," our progeny will say of bridges, of brickwork, of literature, of art.

If you had somehow still doubted that the people taking control of this country are acting in the interest of white supremacy, here's a quote from the newly-appointed Undersecretary of State:

In Neil Jordan's "The Company of Wolves" (1984), actor Steven Rea has one of the craziest werewolf-transformations I've ever seen! This is bonkers, and the head flying into the milk-pail at the end is just... 😘💯

(Had to trim the clip to fit less than 60sec.)

In Neil Jordan's "The Company of Wolves" (1984), Gran (Angela Lansbury) tells her grandaughter about wolves which are "hairy on the inside." This film is marvelous, and full of richly evocative dialogue.

"Koaanisqatsi," dir by Godfrey Reggio, tells a powerful story about mankind's restless quest for power over our environment, through technology, using no dialogue -- only beautiful imagery, and music by Philip Glass. Here is one of the film's more pointed moments:

Also find me on Substack, which might end up being my preferred new social-network. Bluesky looks great, but the benefit to Substack is, they don't enforce a thought-shrinking 300-character limit.

@hcrichardson.bsky.social I just migrated over here from Facebook, and will truly miss seeing your posts in my feed. But the 300-character limit here is obviously an obstacle! Will find you on Substack, I guess.

Self-promo: My band's newest album, from 2024. A celebration of the outsider experience as lived in a conservative state. It's full of hope/fear in = measure. Begins in famous haunted-house. Contains monsters of the literal and metaphorical variety.

This 300-character limit is really gonna suck. I never did much on Twitter primarily because of their strict character-limit. 300 characters is hardly enough to contain more than a pithy quip. Yikes. I mourn the lack of substance on the Internet. Character-limits nurture shallow thinking.
