Library workers–have you already experienced pushback, censorship, or attacks on your plans for Pride 2025?

I'm once again collecting those stories for an article in mid-July.

I'll share this link throughout June as well. Details in the form, with previous stories.

No matter how long you get, it isn’t enough, but a boy this good deserved more than 8 years.

Working in a library means my TBR list is infinite. Finally got to these and loved them both. Reading them simultaneously made them seem similar in ways I might not have otherwise noticed. If you like funny and odd, check em out!

Went to a nearby National Park, just to be spiteful.

Yet I am STILL likely to pour the humidifier water into the hole that goes straight and onto the floor.

I’m trying to stop being a dick about Valentine’s Day because I’m a damned adult. But the Children’s department had good stickers.

In my hiking, winter means I get to focus on texture and the excitement of colors that usually don’t stand out.

Time to primarily post here, so strap in for endless photos of moss, mushrooms, and my cats. Let’s start with this cool-ass texture on a fallen tree!

Feeling powerless? You're not alone. Some inspiration, advice, and comfort here. #activism #fightingback #serbianhero
I wrote about why it's important to not just point out everything that's awful, but to make it easier for each other to fight back (in a whole lot of ways).

Also, I talk a bunch about my favorite Serbian bulldozer guy.

Thank you, @vanhollen.senate.gov for taking physical action today. Keep fighting! Nothing else will matter if this attempted terrorist act is not stopped.
February 3, 2025 at 10:44 PM
@repaprildelaney.bsky.social please do everything you can to stop DOGE. The other stuff matters, for sure, but if this terrorist takeover isn’t halted NOW, we won’t have the luxury of fighting anything else. Stop. Them.

A perk of being a passport agent is that, after four straight hours of helping desperate immigrant parents secure their children’s passports in preparation for being separated from them, you get to tell the family with big MAGA energy that the office had to close early bc of the long waiting line

These seems like sound advice.

Sorry for the boring link, the photo was of someone we'd all rather not see in our feeds.

I’ve only just discovered Beanworld and I am enchanted. I’m both annoyed that I’ve spent so much time Bean-less and cheered that there’s such wonder just waiting for me to find it!

They never SAY anything, but the checkout clerks’ air of indifference barely masks how impressed they are by my bag-packing skill.

Today a friend brought me a pound of butter as a thank you for help in a job search. “I thought you’d prefer it to flowers.” THAT’s how you make someone feel seen.

Cricket outside chirping in the exact cadence that opens “Summer’s Cauldron” by XTC. Thanks for the earworm, little friend!

Just know that the water pressure that makes your shower feel like a firm massage is also going to affect that bidet you just installed. A PSA.
