As an "old white person", your take today w/ Bob was cringeworthy. We're worried about our kids, grandkids and their kids... We aren't looking for anything beyond a sustainable future for this country. The lesson we need to take from Mamdani is to give voters something real to vote FOR.

Switch? Only if you want to see Reproblican entrenchment. Some of the Dem alter kockers are still effective and know how and why we fight. Some do need to be replaced. Doing it wholesale would be a disaster. For 2026 Dems need every seat they can get and they'll need unified support.

I only question RWR's understanding of what he signed. After being told that there was no fat, waste or abuse to be found, he fell back to his Hollywood script of America. He couldn't "fix" it, so he agreed to break it, so that it would be rebuilt correctly. He read from the prepared script after.

The steps go back much further than 50 years. Before the 1955 launch of "The National Review" there was "Yellow Journalism", the KKK, John Birch Society et al... appeal was limited... by shame? by the memory of people who knew how bad the bad could be? As DG says, "memory is our superpower.
