Maybe this was never the place I thought it was. That image is likely just the selective memory or the idealized version of it as filtered through a younger, more naive, less aware, more optimistic version of myself. Still, the sense of loss is the same.

Ron makes a great point: if you feel you can't report Trump critically now because you are too afraid, it is best you resign. You are compromised. Now is the time where reporters must be unapologetic. Do not let Trump scare you into submission. Do not obey in advance.
If Trump has them that intimidated then they need to retire. And MSNBC hosts piled on CNN earlier this year but their code of silence on this is gross. Have some courage and integrity. Is that too much to ask, or are you just too comfortable?
