#TTRPG This summer, I will hopefully be revamping a TTRPG that I worked on a decade ago. A big question is mechanics. Either I work on designing a new system, or I use a preexisting one that is free to use and modify.

I'm playing a tidbit (cat shifter halfling)

First combat was giant rats. My character wins initiative and hits the giant rat. Rat criticals and drops me. Another rat bites be, and I fail a death save on my turn.
