honestly my thoughts on berseria largely boil down to "good but they def should've just called this zestiria 2 rather than trying to market it as a stand alone thing". way too many of the Big Twists rely on lore you only get from playing zestiria

Altho saying that I do feel like berseria is maybe one of the few cases of a ps4 game that could use a graphical upgrade, just cause it was um. very obviously built on their ps3 engine lmao. I love berseria but that game did very much look like a ps3 game. it's night and day compared to arise

Tbf they did do an interview recently saying that they are working on multiple remasters at once and the release order is just "whatever gets finished first" which would explain why we're getting all of the Least Necessary remasters first cause they require less development time. but also berseria?

Also the article's attitude towards artists wanting money for their work is just straight up MEAN a lot of the time. like seriously what the fuck is this. they're not "pan handlers" they're just trying to afford fucking groceries man

I do agree that the existence of Professional Artists does make it harder for younger/hobbyists to compete than it used to be, but it's not impossible, smaller fandoms/discord servers are still pretty encouraging towards newer artists from my experience, tho you do have to actively look for them

I do think a large part of the reason ppl get less comments on their art nowadays is just ppl follow a lot more artists now. ppl only have so much time/energy to engage with art, so if they go from following 20-30 artists to 200-300 artists they'll have to engage with each individual artist less

Like as much as I do think the design (and corporate Shittiness) of most modern social media has made it harder for artists to get visibility/recognition... a lot of it is just there are more artists trying to share their work AND trying to make a living off it than there were 10+ years ago

In general most of the problems of modern social media largely boil down to "more people use it now and it's also viable as a job". deviantart wasn't some magical utopia it just existed in a time when the internet was mostly only used by Weird Nerdy Teenagers and Guys Who Worked in IT

Also their points about non digital art not being anywhere also isn't true, yes on insta/tumblr/twit it's less common, but traditional art is still VERY present on video/photo based sites like insta and youtube. insta esp heavily emphasises "photos in the moment" so it leans more traditional

Artists now a days have WAY more resources to learn to draw than they used to. OP even acknowledges that youtube has tons of resources but acts like they don't count because they're... too long for their attention span? Ok that's fair but a. that doesn't mean they don't exist b. videos. can be short
