Photo on left is of annual cornflower mix, not much good for biodiversity. Golf fairway is probably a fescue monoculture, not much good for biodiversity either.

INHFA complaining about NPWS buying land (tiny amounts) for conservation. One of those sites in Belmullet is an important corncrake breeding site, mushroom factory site where spent mushroom compost was dumped....

Heather Humphreys promised to learn Irish 11 years ago when she was appointed Minister for Arts, Heritage, regional and ruarl affairs and the Gaeltacht in 2014.... She didn't do much then, but I'm sure the promise she is making now is more sincere.....

Definitely a vector for transmission. For example mineral licks for cattle in buckets left out in pasture for cattle. Badgers love the molasses mineral licks and then cattle lick the buckets = transmission....

Putting more funding into results based agri-environmental schemes to improve farmland biodiversity would improve image more than more funding for propaganda campaigns. There seem to be endless Ag PR campaigns....

Corncrake habitat on Shannon Callows was seasonally flooded meadows not bog. Rewetted bog is a great habitat for many species including curlew but not corncrake
