Céline, back in September 2024 captured in a moment of quiet contemplation, illuminated by the gentle glow of natural light.

La photographie est souvent une question de timing : celui du déclencheur, mais aussi celui d'une rencontre et d'une lumière qui s'alignent. En 2013, j'ai eu le privilège d'accueillir dans mon studio de l'époque une mannequin brésilienne de passage à Paris pour une séance qui reste, aujourd'hui encore, gravée dans ma mémoire. L'Écrin du 8ème Étage À cette époque, je travaillais dans un appartement situé au huitième étage, un véritable "piège à lumière".

ENG: This image of Sanya is the kind of photograph that almost appears by surprise and then, once on the screen, feels absolutely obvious. I have photographed her several times, and over the course of our sessions our relationship has shifted from a simple photographer / model dynamic to something more friendly and relaxed, with plenty of room for improvisation. It is in this atmosphere of trust that this mirror portrait took shape: Sanya leans on the frame, bends towards her reflection, and suddenly what started as a lighting test becomes a much more intimate scene.

English version:A small excerpt from my latest session with Sanya.We took the opportunity to try several new lighting setups and explore different moods.Sanya is a model I’ve known for a while, and we’ve shot together several times, which has helped build a real sense of trust.In that kind of relationship, it becomes much easier to experiment: if a photo doesn’t work right away, it’s not an issue, we just try again and refine the light.

After sharing this series with Sasha, I received a notification from Flickr explaining that some of my images had been incorrectly marked as Safe, which triggered a visibility restriction on my account. That was the moment I finally understood how important safety levels are for this kind of work, so I decided to switch my entire Flickr account to Moderate to align with their guidelines and make sure my audience only sees this content when they explicitly choose to view it. This reassures me in my decision to create this blog where I host my content myself and no one has any say about it.
