LV lawyer.
And the way he shivs Dylan Byers, and the line "a terrifying individual with a terrifyingly appropriate name, Gavin de Becker."

He has really misplayed this whole rollout but you see glimpses of why he was successful.

The paragraph before was good too.

The NBA Twitter meltdown due to one loss (albeit the worst loss in history) was absurd. This wasn't the Process - they had made the playoffs the year before!

As there always is when there's an immigration crackdown.

They are a truly dominant regular season team. So were the 2015-2016 Warriors.

I agree but also think they're not *that* inevitable. Favorites? Sure. But they went to two game 7s last year, and might have lost the Finals if the best player on the other team hadn't missed almost the entire game.

Rattle & Hum is underrated and All I Want Is You is one of my fav U2 songs but it would be a thermonuclear take to put it in the top 2 U2 albums.

You are one of the most miserable people I've come across on this site, and that's saying something.

This might be clearest with South Africa. A developed, stable majority-black country, but the explicit US policy is that we want white Afrikaners to migrate here.

I love it because Reloaded then totally flips it on its head. Oh, you thought Neo was special? No, there were 5 versions of him before, and he's just as much a tool of control as the agents and Matrix itself.

The Matrix.

Yeah it's definitely notable, I'm just annoyed that we (lawyer and judges) keep going back to the same well.

No I'm sorry 25 years ago was 1990. I refuse to believe anything different.
December 9, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Yes the Morrison v. Olson dissent is great but that was over 25 years ago! Can we get a new cliche please?
December 9, 2025 at 4:43 PM
I was mostly joking (poorly apparently) about the (at least superficial) similarity between your point and the independent state legislature theory, which was used to try to steal the 2020 election.
December 9, 2025 at 5:53 AM
So the theory is that the state legislatures are independent?

It violates the number one traveling rule though - don't look awkward when you're doing it.

I'm an induced demand believer, but wouldn't the logical extension of it be that construction *reduced* (or at least didn't increase) traffic?

Somehow still more collegial than VanDyke.

Would be fun if true but I'm skeptical MSNBC is the best authority on this kind of thing. It reminds me of Trump 1 when Rolling Stone supposedly had all these inside scoops that reeked of lib wish fulfillment. A Trump insider is either sane and going to NYT or insane and going to a Murdoch pub.
