Back when I was a Suffolk County legislator, I authored a Child Access Prevention law to help prevent handgun deaths. I’ll never forget the head of the local NRA affiliate told me this in response: “I’d rather see some children die than do anything that would jeopardize my Second Amendment rights.”

Yesterday, ICE raided a business in New Jersey and detained both citizens and non-citizens — without a warrant. They even detained a U.S. military veteran.
