I also believe that simple words should be favored over complex ones. This way what we say is accessible to others, e.g. researchers from different fields.

How do we bridge the gap? Which levels are relevant to study and which are too disconnected from real world scenarios or applications? When do experiments still give new insights into basic biology? How can one know the current state of the field with the massive amounts of papers published?
