Less rain and MUCH more heat set for this weekend. Stay cool!

We expect thunderstorms to stay north of our area through the weekend, but we'll be watching. High pressure scoots away and opens the door for more widespread rain and storms next week.

Once again keeping an eye on storms to our northwest for some potential overnight rumbles, but most of the rain is expected to fall Wednesday.

If these don't pan out, NEXT week is also looking promising, with plenty of heat in between:

June: Coming in HUMID.

Best shot at rain this week looks to be Wednesday.

Happy Easter weekend, bsky fam!

Eyeing a storm chance for our northern counties Saturday, with a better chance Sunday afternoon and evening.

Next week looks active, too! Stay tuned.

An all out SURGE of gulf moisture is coming soon and will be with us until we push in some MUCH cooler air by next week. Until then, couple storm chances (some surer than others) to sift through:

We're far from the main event, but a couple storms will be possible as a weak front drifts into the early Saturday overnight and through the day Sunday. As said front moves southeast, there's a CHANCE we trigger some daytime activity with a little surface heating.

Bookending the weekend with rain/storm chances:

Friday looks less than threatening for severe weather, but "inconvenient" is the word we'll use, assuming we find a couple more rounds of showers and a couple storms.

Opening day on my mind

Localized totals of 3" or more possible before the end of this coming weekend, especially southwest!

Won't be raining at every moment, but start taking the rain gear along with you Thursday morning and don't stop till Friday evening.
March 27, 2025 at 3:25 AM
1-2" with localized higher totals coming our way Thursday and Friday, with an outside chance at some more storms to wrap up Sunday.

Severe Thunderstorm WATCH until 11pm.

Overall, I still think the severe potential for B/CS and southward is lower than further northeast, but could definitely see a storm sneak toward city limits.

Can anyone direct me to accounts with skeets like this? The stupid humor and one liners are missing from my Bsky feed and is one of the only reasons I still scroll on the other app.

CONDITIONAL severe risk Wednesday:

Two reliable models, two completely different, yet plausible solutions! Wednesday's system will have the juice to get storms going, but there's doubts on whether we get a "trigger" for storms.

MARCH: In like a lion?

It's possible, but it's early. Eastern half of the Brazos Valley is outlined in a 15% (1-2 out of 5) risk for severe weather next TUESDAY.

As we leap right into spring, this is not abnormal, and for now, just something to keep an eye on.

Bringing this one over from the Other Site because I can't express how cool it is that Aggieland has seen people like this at some of the most ordinary places

Ugh can we just skip work today??

Foggy, then maybe a bit more foggy before we get back to beautiful weather pretty much all week long!
February 24, 2025 at 4:30 AM
Radar picking up on some moisture overhead but it’s still VERY dry here on the ground. Next 8ish hours we could find some very minor freezing rain accumulation. Easy on the roads, especially in the pre-dawn hours!

Cold front is just a quick drive down Hwy6 away!

Scattered showers and even a couple storms possible through about 7-8pm this evening.
