You can perfectly eligible for all the stuff credit checks are good for just by living within your means and paying bills timely

AI is part of it for sure but not the biggest reason. Gaming is competing with *everything else* for people’s attention. Plus tariffs jacked up prices before the first RAM price hike even hit console production lines.

Amazing how they basically fixed that problem. Same for the “job offer” scam message that now go to a “spam” or “unknown” filter you don’t ever have to check!
