The one that pained me to give up is the misuse of concerning to mean disconcerting, which over the past few years has become so common that the meaning changed and it's no longer mistaken.

Interesting datum.
In general the Supreme Court has avoided cases under that clause. By republican the framers meant representative, rather than direct, democracy, and such a system amply satisfies that. The larger issue is that, although I explain how this can be achieved, it requires top-down, not bottom-up, reform.
