Part seven of my PMO memoir is up. Who pays the price in politics? (Spoiler: It’s usually women.)

What the events of the past few weeks have in common with what I saw in Ottawa, and how sexism and misogyny my be the only things left that are truly bi-partisan.

Time of my life (part seven)
Katie Telford, Supriya Dwivedi, Rachel Gilmore, Andrew Scheer, Howard Anglin: who pays the price in politics? Hint: it’s not the last two on that list.

Part Six of my PMO memoir is live. From pop anthems to political hypocrisy: how a columnist, a former Chief of Staff, and a Katy Perry chorus can lead us to a place where online hate can turn into real world consequences. open.substack.com/pub/maxvaliq...
Time of my life (part six)
A little detour from talking about my time at the PMO to talking about this dangerous political climate, how some dudes can never admit that they're wrong, and Katy Perry

Time of my life: part five of my PMO memoir is live. Leaks, misquotes, bad incentives - how nobody wins when the leak is the goal.

I've published Part Three of my PMO memoir: a close read of "Housing Hell," how numbers become "news," and an awful lot of digital metrics. It's still fun.

Read it here: maxvaliquette.substack.com/p/time-of-my...

Part Two of my PMO memoir covers the job, the gap between old and new comms, why a press-sec approach could raise the floor, and how controlled access makes things better for politicians (but worse for the rest of us).

I went silent for 18 months. No posts, no media, no stages. On purpose, because my job as Executive Director of Communications for the Prime Minister of Canada wasn’t about me.

Now I’m back! And sharing what I’ve learned, what’s next, and even some tea. open.substack.com/pub/maxvaliq...
"What are you doing now, Max?"
A new chapter. The same curiosity.

My plan is clear: fight President Trump’s tariffs, protect our workers — like the women and men here at AMPCO Manufacturers in Coquitlam — and build a stronger economy. #CanadaStrong

I'm a Liberal, obv, so y'all can grain of salt this: it blows my mind that anyone could read the CPC's Platform and think that these people are serious about governing. They've been demanding an election for years and this is their plan?
