I gave myself just 10 minutes in the shop using a timer on my phone, saying to myself, "If I don't find anything in ten minutes that is okay because just looking around will be fun."
Folks, I bought four books, including this gorgeous copy of The Crying of Lot 49. Spent $15 in total.
the original paperback edition of The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon. There is a psychadelic dancing woman and a dude playing the drums over a field of like, paisley outlines? Wonderful.

1. Sure sharks are incredible predators, and sure they’re incredible swimmers and also pretty cool to look at but are they happy? Yes. Sharks are very happy 2. “There’s only so many ways to skin a cat, and I’ve done ‘em all. The loop de loop, the hamburglar, the drainpipe. Every damn way.” 3. If you spit on a frog, it’s good luck for the frog if the frog is a nasty little pervert.

Update on how these guys are doing. Wizard comix continue
Panel 1 - Frog Wizard is driving his two-seater convertible car. Bones Wizard sits shotgun, covering his eyes and moaning softly. Gumdrop Wizard, still in his astral form, perches on the back hood of the car, holding tight with his little hands to stay on. Frog Wizard asks "Hey BW are you gonna barf? 'Cause I'm curious how that works." FW and BW are both still drunk, but are wearing seatbelts. Panel 2 - Gumdrop wizard asks Frog Wizard, "You sure you're okay to drive?" Frog Wizard responds, "Oh yeah, frogs are great at holding our liquor. Known for it." Bones Wizard still covers his eyes, moaning. Panel 3 - A birds-eye view of the car driving through a city at night. They approach a 4-way intersection with crosswalks. Frog Wizard says, "Y'know the saying, 'he drinks like a frog?' That's us!" Gumdrop Wizard says, "You mean 'a fish'" Panel 4 - Frog Wizard turns around to look Gumdrop Wizard in the eyes, confused and delighted. He says " 'A fish drinks like a frog?' What would that even mean?" Gumdrop Wizard returns his eye contact, clearly annoyed. Suddenly, Bones Wizard bolts upright, pointing at the road, and yells "EYES ON THE ROAD!" Panel 5 - A fish in a witch hat is crossing the street, holding a six-pack of bass ale from which they have taken one of the beers. They pour the beer into their open mouth, oblivious as the gang hurtles towards them in their car, desperately braking, all of them screaming in panic. Panel 6 - The car screeches to a halt, the front stopping before the back half, foling up the car and launching Gumdrop wizard into a high arc above the head of the drinking fish, who is frozen in the middle of the crosswalk, staring at the car. Panel 6 - Smoke billows out of the hood of Frog Wizards car. He stares in mute horror at it. Bones wizard clutches at the door, sick to his non-existent stomach. The fish asks them both "Are you okay?" Gumdrop wizard's little feet wiggle in the air from where his astral form is embedded in the street.

Gumdrop Wizard is a wizard who is a gumdrop. I have committed to this naming convention now.
Panel 1 - Gumdrop Wizard, floating and glowing, phases through the door. From off-panel, “Oh shit it’s Gumdrop Wizard!” Panel 2- Frog Wizard and Bones Wizard wave from their seats at the bar. They’re both pretty lit up. Frog Wizard yells “Come drink with us!” Panel 3-Gumdrop Wizard takes a seat at the bar, still glowing. “Can’t tonight, guys.” Bones Wizard asks “Ah, you designated driving?” Panel 4- Gumdrop Wizard “Nah, I’m astral projecting. I can’t even pick up drinks.” Frog wizard - “I’ll say! Ooh!” Bones Wizard- “Oh yeah you’re all translucent and floaty. What’s up?” Panel 5- Gumdrop wizard looks annoyed “I don’t know, it’s pissing me off tbh.” Frog Wizard leans in, “Get it? Because you never but a round!” Gumdrop Wizard - “Yeah I get it.” Panel 6 - Setting shifts to Gumdrop Wizard’s bedroom. GW’s astral form hovers over his body asleep in bed. Gumdrop wizard narrates, “My body is asleep at home.” Panel 7 - still GW’s bedroom. Narration- “I tried to wake mysef up but no dice.” His astral form yells at his sleeping body - “Hey! HEY!!!” Panel 8 - Narration, “Eventually I just gave up and went to work.” Gumdrop wizard’s astral form is hovering and teaching a class. He is unable to interact with the chalk and blackboars so he is just pointing. He looks totally done with this shit. Gumdrop wizard says “You’ll just have to imagine the diagram.” A student raises their hand. “Yes this will be on the test.” Panel 9 - Back to the bar. Frog Wizard says, “Wow! That sucks! Why’d you come here?” Gundrop wizard points over his shoulder at Bones Wizard. “I figuredBones Wizard would be sad enough to help me.” Bones Wizard narrows his eyesockets “Hey! Mean!” Gumdrop wizard - “Then get your life together!” Bones wizard- “No!”

How’d you become a wizard?” Panel 5 - Frog wizard looks into his stein “Studied.” Bones wizard leans his head on his hand “Yeah that makes sense.”

Panel 3 - The bar. A furious Frog Wizard bursts through the door, surprising Bones Wizard (who looks like a skeleton but with a beard and wizard hat) who is drinking at the bar. Frog Wizard yells, “YOU CAN’T LEAVE THE ANATOMICAL MODEL TO TEACH YOUR CLASS!!!”
