For anyone who’ll care to listen, spend 1m30s of your time to learn why our Mayor and Premier are wrong and their approach to solving our congestion problem will NOT solve our congestion problem. #halisky #halifax #bikehfx
IMPORTANT: If you can watch only ONE video about why more & wider roads won’t solve traffic congestion no matter how many billions you spend, watch THIS one. Then share it with EVERYONE.

Please watch this video for a great explainer of why the mayor’s arguments in his motion do not stand the test of the facts. If you want less traffic and more options to go around it, write to your councillor and tell them to keep building the bike network!
Hey. Hi. Hello.

The Mayor of Halifax is putting forward a motion to pause all work on the city's bike network.

In this bonus episode of HFX By Bike, I try to provide relevant context, go over each argument in detail, and show how you can get engaged.

If you think what is happening south of the border can’t or won’t happen here, think again. It’s the same rhetoric, the same obsession on crowd sizes, just in a different packaging.

We can stop this from happening here, but only if ALL OF US get out and vote. Your vote has power, you better use it.
The other clip I had wanted to share because it stood out to me, but I didn’t have time: Poilievre bragging about his rally sizes two days ago.

If he wants to avoid Trump comparisons, this isn’t the way to do it.

This is such a telling story and very much worth a read. It is a real reminder that however comfortable we can think we are, homelessness may be closer than we think and we very well may be someone who will need shelters and encampments sooner or later.
