45. Finished a few days ago. Good. A pleasant read. The concept is good with heart warming stories. 4/5

44. Had to prevent myself from sending constant quotes of this to my fiancée who’s in Canada atm. 5/5

43. Re-read on last year. Utterly phenomenal. The prose don’t deserve to be as good as they are. Essentially, Revenge of the Sith, but good. 5/5

Ciao Torino.

Rest up well! The latest episodes of Alexandria is a god send to listen to while I pack to move house.

42. Didn’t expect to enjoy this as much I did. Flew through it just a handful of days. 5/5

41. Absolutely stellar, as always, though this time with illustrations. 5/5

We’re now officially proud apple tree owners.

Oh and we bought a house.

40. Phenomenal prose. Shame I’d forgotten half the characters from the first novel so I struggled to know what was going on at times. 4/5

39. A bit delayed, but Kuang once again knocks it out of the park. The final quarter is a little odd, but a far more intimate story than Kuang has written before. 4.5/5

Guess Who but vibes only.

38. I knew Kingfisher was good, but Christ I wasn’t ready for this. I loved the main duo’s chemistry. Light on the actual plot but I could lap book after book of these two. 5/5

37. A whole load of fun. It’d could have been so easy for this book to be full of gags and one-liners and gags, but there’s some genuinely touching moments and twists throughout. Plus the main character is a bit of a lovely himbo, kinda. So that’s a bonus. 5/5

36. Utterly gripping and highly distressing. As someone who lives in a major UK citizen, I really hope I’d go out quickly. 5/5

I think anyway, it’s hard to explain, I’m still working out this sensation.

But yes, you read right, nothing comes close to my 4th birthday.

Last week was my birthday “week”. Ngl it’s the (2nd - see below) best I’ve ever had. I’m now kinda weirdly and painfully happy. Not a happiness that leaves me perpetually grinning, but a warm sense of self-love that I know, love & care for amazing people who feel the same back.

A little delayed, but:

35. Finished a couple of days ago. The Humans is a reason me and my fiancée got together, I’m not kidding. I can’t elaborate here, but naturally I’m a tad biased. I try and re-read this every other year and it gets me every time. Absolutely stellar. 5/5 Thank you @matthaig.bsky.social

34. A little delayed. Finished at the insistence of my fiancée. Not as good as The Martian, but still fun in its own way. 4/5
August 2, 2025 at 8:13 PM
33. Shorter than I remember it, if you don’t count the appendices. Probably my favourite of the books. 4.5/4
July 21, 2025 at 3:50 PM
32. A step up from Fellowship. It’s a shorter book than I remember it being. As I’ve got older I’ve been much more able to appreciate Frodo and Sam’s journey. 4.5/5
July 8, 2025 at 10:08 PM
31. First re-read of this since I was about 10 years old. It’s of its time but instrumental in shaping modern fantasy and for that I’ll be forever grateful. 4.5/5
July 5, 2025 at 4:59 PM
30. Read as part of Brum’s @waterstones.bsky.social Sci-Fi/Fantasy July book club.

@aptshadow.bsky.social knocks it out the park again with a deep philosophical dive. Great characters, setting & ending. 4.5/5
