This is not to lament my situation. It's good. Nor to wish anything less but the greatest of success for another. They deserve it.
The problem lies in my mindset, and that is what is upsetting. I do not wish to envy and forget my gratitude.

And I say this while I genuinely enjoy my job and my work. I work with a great team, for a company that treats me well, on a project I have been more enthusiastic about than any other project in years.

Today I saw a former classmate who went independent get reblogged by a big artist and while I respect them as an artist and as a person, I crumple knowing they have what I feel I dont. Recognition.
