In prison, the 63-year-old man endured inhumane conditions, including torture—kept in a freezing cell with no heat and deprived of sleep, being woken every two hours. In November 2024, Gorinov was handed an additional three-year sentence for conversations with his cellmates.

I had the chance to present AquaPunk at the Exthereal Conference in Finland, which focused on Fashion in Extended reality. A big thank you to Olesja Hännikäinen, who led the event - it was an honor to be part of such an inspiring project.

After Spark AR closed, AquaPunk found a new home on Snapchat. And recently, it won “Your new era with Lens Studio” competition organized by Snapchat and Lenslist.

A version of AquaPunk was also displayed on a massive curved-screen installation representing Accenture Baltics at the LOGIN conference in Vilnius, Lithuania. It was great to see it showcased on such a large, immersive setup.

This AR effect won the Cyberware Challenge organized by Meta Spark AR and Lenslist , making it into the Top 10 Effects chosen by the professional jury. For a while, Instagram and Facebook users could try this effect in real time on their own faces.
