Discovering Indigenous Indonesia was a long process that led to the novella 'A Forest Story'. Though still in editorial stage I offer this commentary on the process. russelldarnley.blog/2025/01/01/w...

Join me on 6 January, 2025 when I’ll be presenting my novella ‘A Forest Story’. The work explores deforestation & displacement of Indigenous forest people in Indonesia & was prompted by my own direct encounters with two groups of forest people. #Deforestation

My son sent me the 2007 poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, ‘Pity the Nation (After Khalil Gibran)’. Ferlinghetti was one of my favourites back in the 60s, both he & Gibran have much to offer.
