It's certainly striking that a bunch of elites might be charmed by a subliterate fraudster.... Shock upon shock.

With a record like that, Mr. Harshbarger might find himself authoring the GOP healthcare plan this month.

Compare the editing job the BBC did on Trump to that which 60 Minutes did.

The BBC edit portrayed Trump's intentions. The 60 Minutes edits masked his ignorance and incoherence.

I don't know. The FOX NFL guys did about as well as 60 Minutes did last weekend....

"We dug into USAID," Musk said. "It became apparent that what we have here is not an apple with a worm in it, but actually just a ball of worms."

They always project their sins. Always....

Dick Cheney's and Stephen Miller's Americas differ only in the personnel at the top. A fascist cabal doesn't have room for everybody who wants in.

I'm glad he died naturally. And I'm glad he's dead. As the song goes, I'd like to stand over his grave and make sure.

The America Stephen Miller envisions is the country Dick Cheney envisioned.

The only real difference being the actual people who would occupy the top positions in such a society. Fascist cabals can't include everyone who wants in.

He gets no credit for turning against Trump after January 6th. His differences with Trump had much more to do with methods rather than results.

The crown jewel of that effort being when he leaked a story to a complicit NYT reporter about Iraq buying aluminum tubes, and on the Sunday shows the next weekend, he held up a copy of the NYT bearing a headline about those tubes, and remarked how even his least-favorite newspaper agreed with him.

Not satisfied with that horror, Dick sculpted what was up to that point the largest campaign of lies in American history so he could justify the invasion of Iraq.

Working with Donald Rumsfeld, he architected a regime of torture and secret prisons. He made Gitmo a thing -- a term synonymous with fascism. When you disappear people, that is fascism.

He steered the national conversation to justifications of fascism rather than disgust at its existence.

Then came 9/11. And Dick saw more opportunities. More power.
November 4, 2025 at 5:58 PM
Prior to 9/11, Dick pursued an agenda meeting with lobbyists and plutocrats in secret locations to craft policies to serve them, and them alone.

His gift giving to his former employer Haliburton looks quaint these days, but only because he cracked open that door and made such corruption tolerable.

Back then, an authoritarian wannabe stood out even in the GOP. Dick was a guy who, when put in charge of finding W a running mate, chose himself because he knew a stooge when he saw one and realized that W was his one chance to seize the brass ring on the merry-go-round of political power.
