Downsizing for the move to Ireland continues. I just gave away my old archery books to an eager young fellow. That’s on top of the Cantonese and Zen books I already gave away. A lifetime of interests that probably won’t be revisited.

Our floors are being restored soon (re-sanded and re-varnished). We were planning on staying in our “Sleepout” during the work, without a proper kitchen or bathroom, but my good friend Anne suggested AirBNB. Luckily I found a reasonably cheap place in our area that allows dogs.

The thieves came back. This time, my motorbike wasn’t there and they attacked my car. Fortunately my neighbour saw them jumping over the gate and called the Police. The Police helicopter followed their car and one of them was arrested. A forensics expert came by to collect evidence.

I finally finished “Buille Marfach” (Anna Heussaff 2010). Perhaps I was too busy with other things, but I struggled to get into it: I didn't care about the shallow characters or which of them was guilty. I would say her later book “Sa Pholl Báite” (2023) is much better.

There is a young fellow (or at least a lot younger than me) at my pole studio who wears three pairs of underwear when he trains.

Perhaps he is very shy, or maybe he has a tendency to get unexpected erections.

It emerged that the scoundrels were trying to steal my motorcycle. They attacked the ignition system, but luckily there is not much damage and I gave their registration number to the police.

This morning, when I returned home from an errand, there was a large van parked in my driveway. My dogs were barking wildly from the window. Inside, two shady-looking tattooed men. They said they had come to buy designer sunglasses — but the address was wrong. Happily they left without incident.
